Dhaka-- - Bangladesh will receive Tk 38 crore from Switzerland as grant for its ‘Post Literacy and Continuing Education’ programme.

An agreement to this effect was signed between Bangladesh and Swiss governments here yesterday.

Counselor and SDC chief of Swiss Embassy in Dhaka Markus Waldvogel and ERD Secretary Dr AKM Mashiur Rahman signed the deal on behalf of their respective sides.

The main objective of the project is to increase functional application of literacy skills by providing post-literacy and continuing the education of neo-literate through a comprehensive system of non-formal education.

The Swiss contribution has been made in the framework of financing plan agreed by Bangladesh, IDA and Switzerland, said a press release.
